Jerry Hughes

Jerry Baxter Hughes, 60, of Franklinville, died Monday, June 20, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alvin Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Road Baptist Church Cemetery. A native of Randolph County, Mr. Hughes was born January 13, 1956. He was the retired owner/operator of 64 Body Shop and he loved to ride motorcycles. Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his father, Hurley Hughes. Mr. Hughes is survived by his mother, Hilda Sharp and husband, Harold of Asheboro; sister, Shannon Smith and husband, Anthony of Asheboro; brother, Roger Hughes and wife, Deborah of Asheboro; nephews, Brandon Hughes, Trenton Smith, Garrett Smith; former wife, Dawn Hughes; stepdaughter, Maria Pendola; and step granddaughter, Brooklynn Pendola. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Thursday at Ridge Funeral Home, prior to the service.
