Jerry Maurice Dickens, 84, of Asheboro, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Jody Harrison Pastor Brian Cole officiating. Mr. Dickens was a native of Randolph County, born on February 7, 1938 to the late Julius Dickens and Lena Moody Dickens. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and retired from Klaussner Furniture. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dickens was preceded in death by his son, David Dickens; and sister, Betty Farr. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Dickens of the home; sons, Bobby Dickens and wife Margaret of Franklinville, Darrell Dickens of Asheboro; brother, Steve Dickens and wife Annie Sue of Asheboro; and grandchildren, Holly Hardister, Josh Dickens, Samantha Dickens, and Jessie Lornson. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Bethel Baptist Church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church Missions, 4836 Robbins Circle, Asheboro, NC 27205.
