Jeff Hicks

Jeffrey Lynn "Jeff" Hicks, 61, of Asheboro, died Friday, September 18, 2026, at his residence.

A celebration of Jeff's life will be held at a later date.

Jeff was born in Hickory, NC, on August 1, 1965. With a lasting legacy of a helpful soul, Jeff biggest accomplishment and purpose in life was helping kids. He would help raise any child that he could. Watching them grow brought joy into his life. Jeff had a big heart and would help anyone and everyone. In his spare time, Jeff loved to fish. His favorite fishing spot was anywhere that he could cast a line.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Small; brother, Kenneth Small; uncle, Roland Hicks; and close family friends, Jimmy and Sandra Norris.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Hicks; children, Christopher Hicks, Jamie Hicks (Johnny Rush), Aliyah Bennett; "bonus kids", Haley Martin, Christy Stevenson; sisters, Dawn Perkins (Robbie), Rhonda Neighbors; grandchildren, Jordan Rush, Katie Rush, Christian Engle; mother, Brenda Landreth; nephews and nieces, Daniel Card, Nicholas Neighbors, Kimberly Haas, Laurel Neighbors; and numerous children that he help raise.
