It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Jeanette Faye Thomas Fields, who went to be with Jesus on October 13, 2024 at the age of 85. A woman of unwavering faith and boundless love, Jeanette was a guiding light to all who knew her. She passed peacefully at her home surrounded by family.
Born on February 27, 1939 in Harnett County to Harvey Tillman Thomas and Annie Lee Seawell, Jeanette dedicated her life to serving God and her community. Her kindness, wisdom, and compassion touched countless lives. She was a cherished member of Faith and Love Baptist Church, where her faith was evident in everything she did. Jeanette was known for her warm smile, her delicious home-cooked meals, and cakes, and her ability to bring family and friends together. She had a true servant's heart. Jeanette graduated from Benhaven High School in 1957 where she was crowned the Sand Spur Queen. She retired from Matlab of Asheboro in 1994. In her free time she enjoyed reading, puzzles, family vacations, baking, and fishing.
A dedicated member of her church, Jeanette embodied a spirit of service, volunteering her time to help those in need and offering comfort to those who sought her guidance. Her faith was a beacon for her family and friends, providing strength in difficult times.
Jeanette's life was marked by her deep devotion to her late husband, Wilbur Henry Fields Jr. (Nick), who passed away six years ago. Together, they shared a remarkable journey filled with love, laughter, and faith. Their partnership was a testament to true devotion not only to each other, but to God. As a grandmother, Jeanette was cherished by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as "Nana." She nurtured them with warmth, wisdom, and love, instilling in them the values of compassion and generosity. Her door was always open, and her heart even wider.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family values. Nana is survived by her children, W.H.
