Jean Corder Wilkerson

Mrs. Alma Jean Corder Bridgeman Wilkerson, 73, of Asheboro, went to be with her Lord on Monday, November 29, 2010, at Randolph Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010, at Brush Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Bear Creek, NC with the Rev. Johnny Lewis officiating. Mrs. Wilkerson was born December 30, 1936, in Chatham County, but resided in Randolph County. She was the daughter of the late Jesse Gray Corder and Mamie Lawson Corder. Mrs. Wilkerson was retired from Sara Lee Knit Products. She was a loving mother and grandmother and she was always willing to help others in need. She was an avid reader and loved animals, especially her dog, Chauncey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Vernon Bridgeman, son, William Kim Bridgeman, sister, Debra C. Chilton, and brothers, William R. "Buva"� Corder and Joe G. Corder. Surviving are her daughter, Gina Michael Bridgeman Brady, of Asheboro; son, Charles Keith Bridgeman, of Asheboro; sister, Maxie Lee Coley, of Asheboro; brother, Johny N. Corder, of Siler City; grandchildren, Caitlin E. Brady, of Raleigh, Connor E. Brady, Dustin Bridgeman, Kelly Bridgeman, and Kati Bridgeman, all of Asheboro; three nieces and four nephews. The family will receive friends at the home of her sister, Maxie Coley, 404 Cooper Street, Asheboro. Memorial may be made to Relay for Life, P.O. Box 515, Asheboro, NC 27204.
