J.C. Sutherlin

Mr. Joseph Clarence "J. C."� Sutherlin, 77, of Asheboro, NC, died Monday, August 29, 2011, at High Point Regional Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at New Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Poole officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Sutherlin was a native of Durham County, NC. He retired as the Director of Sales and Service for Coggin Pontiac in Durham. He retired to a life and love of fishing. He completed Bragtown High School at the age of 16 and he was only 2 months shy of attending his 60th class reunion. He was a life long fan of the Duke Blue Devils. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lela Mae Long and his sister, Pat Sutherlin. Mr. Sutherlin is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy Sutherlin, of the home; daughters, Brenda Perkins and husband, Joe, of Chapel Hill, NC, Becky Hinshaw and husband, Eddie, of Asheboro, NC, Kathy Smith and husband, Jack, of Bristol, VA, Andi Sutherlin and husband, Mike, of Madison, AL; grandchildren, Blake Hinshaw, Katie Hinshaw, Bayne Hinshaw, Lindsay Perkins, Allison Sutherlin, Amanda Sutherlin, Sevi Smith. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Hope United Methodist Church, Children's Ministry, 4215 New Hope Church Road, Asheboro, NC 27205.
