J.C. Hammer

John Causey "J.C." Hammer, Jr., 88, of Asheboro, died Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Woodland Hill Center in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 10, 2017, at High Pine Wesleyan Church with Rev. Todd Leach officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors presented by The Randolph County Honor Guard. Born March 3, 1929 in Guilford County, Mr. Hammer was the son of the late John and Lessie Hammer. He was retired from G.E. and Black & Decker. Mr. Hammer attended High Pine Wesleyan Church and was an avid hunter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Leo Hammer, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Lanier Hammer of the home; stepdaughter, Rhonda Needham of Asheboro; stepson, Randy C. Loflin and wife, Patricia of Asheboro; grandchildren, Jeffrey Needham, Kevin Loflin, Kristy Bennett, Miranda Harris; and great-grandchildren, Skyler Loflin, Peyton Callicutt, Jase Loflin, Jordin Needham, Camden Needham, Gatlin Brown and Madilyn Poole. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday at Ridge Funeral Home.
