Janie's wish was to be cremated. She asked that her friends and family celebrate her life rather than mourn her passing. She left many who were friends as well as coworkers to mourn her passing at Craige Brawley Liipfert & Walker LLP, Tuggle Duggins & Meschan, P.A. and Hanesbrands Inc. Janie was born in Asheboro, North Carolina, August 16, 1960; attended High Point University and obtained her B.S degree in 1996; attended the Norman Adrian Wiggins school of Law at Campbell University and obtained her law degree in 1999; Janie is a member of the Forsyth County, 21st Judicial District, North Carolina (Member, Estate Planning Section) and American (Member: Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Sections) Bar Associations and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. Janie was predeceased by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elisha T. Long Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Clinton Peele, and her stepsister, Kathy Janeen Hunt. Surviving are husband, Richard Albert Reeves; stepson, Matthew Ryan Reeves; stepdaughter, Stephanie Ashley Reeves; father, Joseph Lee Long; mother, Pearly Jane Rives; brother, Arthur Rives; stepmother, Winnie Harris Long; stepsister, Susan Hunt Webster. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Ridge Funeral Home, 908 Albemarle Road, Asheboro, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that anyone wanting to honor her memory make a contribution to the Hospice & Palliative Care Center 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC, 27103.
