Janice Voncannon

Mrs. Janice Russell Voncannon, 74, of Asheboro, NC, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at The Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Friday, November 11, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Fonner officiating. Burial will follow at Flag Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Voncannon was born July 15, 1937. She was the daughter of the late James Stedman Russell and Nannie Lou Britt Russell. Mrs. Voncannon was retired from Arrow International and she was a member of Russell's Grove Baptist Church. She was fond of antiques. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Voncannon was preceded in death by her son, Rodney Dean Voncannon, and her siblings, James Herman Russell, Willaree Sheron, and O'Ray Russell. Mrs. Voncannon is survived by her husband, Harvey Lee Voncannon, of the home; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday, November 10, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
