Janice Thedora Dunn

Ms. Janice Thedora McIver Dunn, 63, of 1000 Sherwood Avenue Apt. 11, Asheboro, NC, died Friday, August 5, 2011, at Randolph Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at Covenant Christian Church with Rev. Lois Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Asheboro. Janice Dunn was born December 25, 1947 in Asheboro, North Carolina to the late Mattie McIver Suitt. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Angie Denise, her grandmother Reverend Minnie Trogdon McIver, and grandfather, Reverend Robert Floyd McIver, who reared her. She was raised in Asheboro and attended Asheboro City Schools. She worked at General Electric and United Brass. She was reared in the Church of God of Prophecy and attended Covenant Christian before her death. In 1964 she married Hubert Dunn and to this union, two children were born. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Randall McIver of Asheboro; one daughter, Michelle Dunn Williams (Cedric) of Asheboro, NC; two sisters, Minnie J. Williams of Durham, NC and Mary Johnson of Asheboro, NC; loving cousin, Shirley M. Tabon (Elton); two grandsons, Brandon and Quacey; two granddaughters, Zoey and Morgan; and a host of relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Monday, August 8, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home.
