Jane Konis Porpeglia

Jane Ann Konis Porpeglia, 84, of Asheboro, NC, passed away Friday, October 16, 2015 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro. Born in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late Theodore J. and Helen Marsh Konis. Mrs. Porpeglia married George J. Porpeglia, Sr. on her 18th birthday in 1949. Jane is survived by her five children, Darlene Marr of Guilderland, NY, Georgene Saddlemire and husband, Andrew of Asheboro, NC, George Porpeglia, Jr. and wife, Mabel of Asheboro, NC, Janene Frazer and husband, Al of Myrtle Beach, SC, James Porpeglia and wife, Karen of Duanesburg, NY; grandchildren, Theodore Porpeglia, Michelle Henderson, Christopher Porpeglia and friend, Jessica Mitchell; great grandchildren, Jamee Nicol and R.J. Henderson, Grace Ann and Amy Hope Porpeglia. Mrs. Porpeglia and her husband moved to Myrtle Beach, SC after her husband retired from General Electric. After 17 years at the beach, they moved to Asheboro, NC. Mrs. Porpeglia enjoyed roller skating, where she met her husband of 64 years. Jane was a talented seamstress, loved camping with her family, dancing, gardening and flowers. She had a green thumb when it came to her roses and hydrangeas. She loved her family and had a gentle touch and love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Timothy L. Pheagin officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204. Our family would like to thank Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home for the love and care given to Jane over the past few years. We would also like to thank Hospice of Randolph County for the love, compassion, understanding and endless support to the family.
