Jane O'Connor

Jane Bunting O'Connor, 81, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM, Friday, September 2, 2016, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barry Queen officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Born March 26, 1935 in Randolph County, Ms. O'Connor was the daughter of the late Colon and Fannie Bunting. She worked at Blue Mist BBQ for over 20 years and later retired from Asheboro Elastics. Ms. O'Connor was a member of Central United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren and playing cards. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Charles O'Connor; brother, Colon M. Bunting, Jr.; sisters, Martha B. Hecking and Ava Reece Holcombe; and sister-in-law and best friend, Mary Bunting. Ms. O'Connor is survived by her granddaughter, LoryBeth Morgan of Asheboro; great-granddaughters, AnnLee Lester and Elizabeth Fletcher; sisters, Colleen Bodsford and Betty Crowell both of Asheboro; brothers, William Bunting of Level Cross, James R. "Jim" Bunting of Helena, MO; and her canine companion, Cabo. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
