James Mcneill

James Elvin McNeill, 79, of Asheboro, died Monday, January 11, 2021, at his home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Jon Shook and Rev. Howard Moffitt officiating. James was born on June 9, 1941, in Randolph Co., to the late Elvin Hugh McNeill and Georgia Ann Frances Owens McNeill. He liked fishing and loved NASCAR and spending time with his family and friends, and especially his grandchildren. After his retirement, James' favorite place was his recliner. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, Henry McNeill. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Wanda McNeill of the home; daughters, Sherri Spivey and husband Willie of Seagrove, Kelli Stalvey and husband Mike of Asheboro; sisters, Shirley Moffitt and husband Howard of Seagrove, Rachel Hall and husband Frankie of Seagrove, Linda Garner of Asheboro; brothers, Raeford McNeill and wife Margie, Charles McNeill, Danny Ray McNeill, Jerry McNeill all of Seagrove; grandchildren, Alex Spivey, Amy Spivey, Emma Stalvey, Jenna Stalvey; and little dog, "Rudy". Mr. McNeill will lie in state from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203.
