James Fred Latham

June 22, 1926 — April 7, 2013

Mr. James Fred Latham, 86, of Randleman, NC, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Landmark Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Latham was born June 22, 1926. He was the son of the late Lewis Walter Latham and Lula Belle Leonard Latham. Mr. Latham served in the US Navy during World War II. He attended Landmark Baptist Church, enjoyed gardening, and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Latham; sisters, Effie and Roxie; and brothers, Raymond and Warren. Mr. Latham is survived by daughter, Carol Savchak and husband, Gene, of Randleman, NC; grandson, John Savchak, of Mebane, NC; and granddaughter, Dr. Elisha Savchak-Trogdon and husband, Justin Trogdon, of Randleman, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home.
