James David "Jim" Jeffus, 87, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Phil Stapp officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Denton County, Texas, Mr. Jeffus was born November 6, 1927 to the late Theron and Hermie Hayes Jeffus. He was a member of The Church of Christ and loved his family and grandchildren. Mr. Jeffus was US Navy veteran having served during World War II. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jeffus was preceded in death by a son, Dwight Wayne Jeffus; sisters, Ruby Jeffus Crosswhite and Geneva Pearl J. McCraine; and two brothers, Oveida and Eugene Jeffus. He is survived by his wife, Marie Hill Jeffus; son, Dennis J. Jeffus of Asheville, NC; daughter, Shelia J. Peach and husband, Tom of Marriotsville, MD; sister, Bennie Virginia J. Maus of Lewisville, TX; grandchildren, James Tyson Jeffus, Dwight W. Jeffus, Jr., Sarah E. Jeffus, Thomas D. Peach, Andrew D. Peach; one great-grandchild, Mackenzie Rose Jeffus; and two daughters-in-law, Sandra Jeffus Patterson of Asheboro and Sandra Cox Blankenship of Maggie Valley. The family will receive friends from 2:30 - 4:00 p.m., Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice House of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
