Mr. James Van Frazier, 82, of Asheboro, NC, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at Randolph Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Friday, February 15, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bo Wansley officiating. Burial will follow at Flag Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery in Asheboro. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Richmond County, NC, Mr. Frazier was born June 16, 1930. He was the son of the late James Marshall Frazier and Lydia Harward Frazier. He was retired from the N. C. Dept. of Corrections and a Korean War combat veteran. James spent his retired life with antique trucks and tractors and beekeeping. Mr. Frazier is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Benbow Frazier; children, Jimmy Frazier, Vicky Gray, Donna Moser, Kimberly Johnson, Tony Frazier; brothers, Clarence Frazier, Jack Frazier; grandchildren, Mendy Benge, Christy Mullinax, Angie Moser, Jessica Garmon, Nathan Gray; great grandchildren, Shelby Benge, Mason Benge, Cameron Mullinax, Chloe Mullinax, Avery Garmon and Deacon Garmon. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Friday, February 15, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and doctors at Randolph Hospital and the VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.
