James Curtis Drake

Jim Drake James Curtis Drake, 74, of Asheboro, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019 at his home. Jim was born in Boston, MA on April 13, 1945 to the late Clara Marseilles. He was then adopted and raised by his parents, Gladys and Curtis Drake. He had been a policeman and later retired as a computer technician. Jim served in the US Navy during Vietnam. He also served in the US Army Reserves. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ashley Newcomb and his brother, Dennis Biggins. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Anne Drake of the home; daughters, Jennifer Gentle and husband Kevin of Asheboro, Mariana Newcomb and husband Jimmy Burchill of Baltimore, MD, Melissa Brewerton and husband Joe of Baton Rouge, LA; brothers, David Drake and wife Diane of Chesapeake, VA, Sean Biggins and wife Tina of Hilton Head, SC; sisters, Patricia Biggins of Preston, CT, Darcy Lipphardt of Ledyard, CT, Sharon Ferrall and husband Michael of Merritt Island, FL; granddaughters, Brittney Young, Victoria Gentle; and great granddaughter, Madilyn Young. There will be a visitation and viewing from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home. Military honors will follow by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
