James D. Cagle

Mr. James Donald Cagle, 81, of Asheboro, NC, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at The Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, November 14, 2013, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Lay Minister Gwen Foster and Rev. Adrian Pugh officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Cagle was born December 10, 1931. He was the son of the late Astor Cagle and Clora Hill Cagle. He was the owner and operator of Cagle Brothers Aggregate Supply and was a member of the N.C. Aviation Museum. He was an avid gardener and beekeeper and loved to give away his vegetables and honey. He loved to tell stories and fishing at his summer home at High Rock Lake. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend. Mr. Cagle served in the US Army during Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Poole Cagle, sisters, Jewel Auman and Irene Belle, brothers, Lloyd Cagle and Claude Cagle, and his beloved Dalmatian, Christy. Mr. Cagle is survived by his daughter, Donna J. Cagle, of Asheboro, NC; sister, Rachel Brown, of Asheboro, NC; brother, Hal Cagle and wife, Betty Jo, of Asheboro, NC; loving caregiver, Rosa Jester, of Asheboro, NC; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Donna Cagle and Larry Johnson.
