James Marshall Burroughs, 87, of Asheboro, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019 at his home. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Randolph Memorial Park. Born in Richmond County, NC, on July 5, 1932, Mr. Burroughs was the son of Julia Marie Lefler Burroughs and Clyde Wade Burroughs. He retired from Montgomery Box as Plant Manager. Mr. Burroughs served in the US Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to CJ's for a meal, and working in the yard among his many flowers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Katholene Drye Burroughs; and brothers, Clyde Burroughs Jr., Lacy Burroughs, Howard Burroughs and Eugene Burroughs. Surviving are his son, Michael Burroughs and his wife Kim of Asheboro; grandsons, Jonathan Maness and his wife Laura of Asheboro, Aaron Maness and his wife Natoya of Raleigh, Kevin Maness and his wife Sesily of Sanford; great grandchildren, Damion, Rhylea, Avery, Ryan, Presley and Adeline; sisters, Doris B. Covington and husband Alton of Mt. Gilead, and Edna B. King of Asheboro. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday and other times at the home.
