James E. Brewer

Mr. James Edward Brewer, 76, of Asheboro, NC, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Randolph Hospital. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, April 6, 2012, at Oaklawn Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Hosler officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Montgomery County, NC, Mr. Brewer was born August 11, 1935. He was the son of the late Claude Edward Brewer and Madie Laura Covington Brewer. Mr. Brewer was retired from the US Navy Facility at Cherry Point and was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Brewer is survived by his wife, Layrelnia Brewer, of the home; sons, Kelly Brewer, of Asheboro, NC, Edward Brewer, of Rocky Mount, NC; sisters, Marie Rhodes, of , MI, Myrtle Freeman, Ethel Sams, both of Star, NC; brother, Joe Brewer, of Star, NC; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westside Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, 225 Westside Circle, Asheboro, NC 27205, or to the Randolph County Animal Shelter, 1370 County Land Road, Randleman, NC 27317.
