Jack T. Maness

Mr. Jack Timothy Maness, 67, of Asheboro, NC, died Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Randolph Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Hoover's Grove Wesleyan Church with Rev. Tommy Kidd, Sr., and Rev. Gene Schenck officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Maness was born August 17, 1945. He retired from Energizer and enjoyed being a potter. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Maness was preceded in death by his father, Otis Maness, his sister, Dr. Catherine de Nerville, and his brother, Ronald Maness. Mr. Maness is survived by his wife, Minnie Hill Maness, of the home; mother, Mary McNeill Shelton, of Asheboro; daughter, Dr. Shelia Jane Maness, of Bethesda, MD; sister, Peggy Wood and husband, J. B., of Richmond, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
