Ivan Owens

Darris Ivan Owens, 65, of Asheboro, NC, died Friday, May 27, 2016 at Duke Medical Center in Durham. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Richland Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mr. Owens was born December 26, 1950, the son of the late Garland and Hazel Garner Owens. He was employed by Goodyear for nearly 30 years. Mr. Owens was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was known by many and will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his brother, Frankie Owens. Mr. Owens is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Owens, of the home; daughter, Shawna Owens Wicker and husband, Maurice, of Siler City; son, William Ivan Owens, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Megan Nicole Owens, William Nathaniel Owens, Joseph Allen Wicker; great-grandchild, Mallory Leigh Wicker; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home in Asheboro.
