Isabelle Stevens Maroney

Isabelle (Stevens) Maroney was born on December 28, 1921, at home in Portage Lake, Maine, where her parents ran a general store. She passed away to our Lord and Savior on November 7, 2025, at Clapp's Nursing Home in Asheboro, NC, where she had been a long term resident.

She was one of seven children. She graduated high school in 1940 from St. Agatha Convent in St. Agatha, Maine. The United States entered WW II in 1942. She moved to Connecticut and found a job making B 29 aircraft rings. After the war, she remained in Connecticut and met and married Frank R. Maroney, Sr. and remained married for 54 years until his death in 2002.

She was a teachers aide for many years and loved working with children. Frank and Isabelle relocated to Asheboro, NC in 2000 to live close to their only child, Frank Jr. and his wife and family. From age 81, until her early 90's, she worked in the after school program at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Asheboro. As a resident of Clapp's Nursing Home, she participated in many activities with her most favorite being, bingo.

The will be a private memorial service held at a later date.
