Iris Parnell

Mrs. Iris Graves Parnell, 80 of Ramseur, N.C. was released into our Lord's arms, Thursday, January 24, 2013. A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00pm Sunday, January 27, 2013, at Ramseur Wesleyan Church with Rev. Tim Butcher, Rev. Leon Thompson and Rev. Gary Moger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Parnell's favorite pastime was spending time with her children and grandchildren and giving gifts to them. Over her lifetime, Mrs. Parnell also enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing and cooking. Her windowsills were always full of beautiful orchids and her yard was graced with roses of all shades. She was born on November 3, 1932 in Montgomery County to the late Samuel Richard Graves and Lucy Lucas Graves. July 2, 1948, Mrs. Parnell married the late Joe Parnell whom she remained married to for 58 years. They have four children, Jo Ann P. Braxton (husband, George) of Ramseur, Mickey Parnell (wife, Myra) of Henderson, Eddie Parnell (wife, Trish) of Ramseur and Sharon P. Richardson (husband, Ken) of Shallotte. 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren also remain from this union. Mrs. Parnell's family will be receiving condolences from friends 6:00pm "� 8:00pm Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at her home.
