Iris "Bo-d" Clark Morgan, 93, of Asheboro, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 2, 2021. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Aaron Powers and Pastor Billy Myers officiating. Entombment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Bo-d was born on September 26, 1928, in Guilford Co., to the late Daniel Archie Clark and Ina Pierce Clark. She was attending Archdale Assembly of God. Bo-d was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother, and loyal friend. Her strong faith and unconditional love was an inspiration to everyone she had met. Her smile, witty sense of humor and contagious laughter was kind and welcoming. She never met a stranger and always made sure, if they were hungry or not, she'd feed them until their bellies nearly popped! She was a great cook and made her famous biscuits and cornbread in a way that no one could replicate! She especially enjoyed making them for all family, friends, and church gatherings. Her popular banana pudding was always a favorite and disappeared from the dessert table as quickly as it appeared! It was DEE!!! She was given the title of "Second Mom" from all the kids in the neighborhood and adults alike which she exemplified simply by being who she was. Bo-d loved to travel. Vacationing at the mountains or beach with family was so special to her. Locally she loved to sit and watch the river flow, feeding the wildlife in nature and taking long scenic rides. Bo-d's lifelong passion of her music was unsurpassed. Bo-d and Jennings were well known by their Country Western style, gospel and Hawaiian songs. Yodeling was a specialty of her many talents. Bo-d's angelic voice and her expertise on the guitar, along with her husband Jennings, would draw large crowds every year no matter where they performed. Bo-d won many awards on her singing and rhythm guitar excellence throughout her illustrious career. At the Fraley Music Festival in Kentucky, where they were always a highlight, Bo-d and Jennings played every year straight for over 50+ years. The Morgans were inducted in the Music Hall of Fame at the Fraley Music Festival and were well known as royalty! Bo-d was and forever will be remembered as "The Queen!" Bo-d was a true patriot and loved this country dearly. Her greatest accomplishment was her love for Jesus, her children, her family, and her friends. She will be missed but never forgotten. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Jennings Morgan; sons, Kim "Kim-bo" Stephen Morgan, Ken Jennings Morgan; daughter, Darnell Morgan Long; son-in-law, John Phillip Morgan; three brothers and two sisters.
