Irene Lewis Rumfelt

Irene Lewis Rumfelt, 89, formerly of Asheboro, died Friday, June 12, 2015 at her residence in Clewiston, FL. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Huldah Baptist Church Cemetery. A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Rumfelt was born July 25, 1925 to the late Jesse Aaron and Lola Sloan Lewis. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Clewiston, FL and was active in her church. Mrs. Rumfelt taught Brail at Randolph Technical College and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Chapman was preceded in death by her husband, William McKenley Rumfelt. Mrs. Rumfelt is survived by her sons, Alden Aaron Rumfelt and wife, Patricia of LaBelle, FL, Thomas Rumfelt and wife, Colette of Lakewhale, FL; sister, Drew Smith and husband, Lewis of Sumpter, SC; grandchildren, Chad Rumfelt, Aaron Rumfelt, Julie Palser, Christina Rumfelt and JoAnna Rumfelt; and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
