Inez Poindexter Davis

Inez "Nanny" Deborah Poindexter Davis, 78, of Asheboro, died Friday, November 2, 2018 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Michael Poindexter officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Born on January 17, 1940, in Surry County, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late Banner and Mallie Creed Poindexter. She had worked at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation as a Geriatric Technician. She was a lifelong member of Willow Lane Baptist Church, now God's Outreach Ministries. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Orville Jackson Davis, and her siblings, Stella Tate, Marvin Poindexter, Harley Poindexter, Arney Poindexter, Marie Shaw, Frances Barfield, Hallie Foster Brown, and Jake Poindexter. Surviving are her children, Randall Davis and wife, Christie, and Sheila Hammer and husband, Terry, all of Asheboro; grandchildren, Stetson Hammer and wife, Tiffany, Jordan Trotter and husband, Matthew, and Jacob Davis; great grandchildren, Zoey Hammer, Corbin Trotter, and baby Trotter expected in June 2019. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 5, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home.
