Hugh F. Brabham

Mr. Hugh Frank Brabham, 77, of Asheboro, NC, died Monday, August 8, 2011, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A native of Avery County, NC, Mr. Brabham was born February 25, 1934. He was the son of Mabel Lee Brown Brabham, of Asheboro, and the late Hugh Frank Brabham. He was retired from Black & Decker, a member of Rushwood Wesleyan Church, and had served in the US Army. He was the co-owner of Dog-N-Suds for 13 years and enjoyed NASCAR and collecting NASCAR memorabilia, wood and leather crafts and yard work. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Keith Brabham. Mr. Brabham, in addition to his mother, is survived by his wife, Kathleen Brabham, of the home; son, Michael Brabham and wife, Nicole, of Asheboro, NC; sisters, Tonita Bulla and husband, Lloyd, Jocelyn Barrett, both of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Tiffany Brabham, Brittney Brabham, Chase Brabham, Kristin Brabham, Brian Brabham, Sierra Davis; two great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
