Hoyt Mcelreath

Hoyt Davis McElreath, 86, of Trinity, NC, died Friday, August 18, 2017 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 21, 2017, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro. Officiating will be Rev. Billy Yates and Rev. Junior Summey. Burial will follow at Pierce's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Trinity. A native of Randolph Co., NC, Mr. McElreath was born August 6, 1931, the son of the late C.W. and Ella Wright McElreath. He had worked as a painter and carpenter. He loved woodworking, gardening and refinishing tractors. He also loved honey and being around children. Survivors include his wife, Betty McElreath, of the home; son, Roger McElreath and wife, Debbie, of Asheboro; brothers, Louie McElreath and wife, Faye, Kenneth McElreath and wife, Janet, all of Asheboro; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 21, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
