Howard Ray Luther

Mr. Howard Ray Luther, 75, of 5194 New Hope Church Road, Asheboro, NC, died Saturday at the Hospice Home at High Point. Funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Faron Overton, the Rev. Lee Green and the Rev. Jimmy Austin officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Born on May 31, 1934 in Randolph County, NC, Mr. Luther was the son of Junie and Amy Luther. He was retired from Lucks, Inc. and he was a cattle farmer. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ervin Luther, his sisters, Alma Auman, Esther Gatlin, and Fairie Fore. Survivors include his wife, Kay Hammond Luther, of the home; daughters, Deborah Luther Hurley and husband, Darrell, of Charlotte, Sharon Luther Greer and husband, Kenny, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Jennifer Hurley, Drew Hurley, Cody Greer and Courtney Greer. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2010, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
