Howard Luther

Howard Leslie Luther, 89, of Asheboro, NC, died Friday, May 13, 2016 at Woodland Hill Center in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro. Officiating will be Rev. Jack Luther. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Randolph Co., NC, Mr. Luther was born January 8, 1927, the son of the late Nelson and Rozenia Hurley Luther. He was retired from the NC Dept. of Highways and was a member of Eleazer United Methodist Church. Mr. Luther had served in the US Army during World War II. In addition to his parents, Mr. Luther was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Swaney Luther, his son, Jeffrey Luther, sisters, Lula Lanier, Grace Lucas, and brother, Ralph Dayton Luther. He is survived by several nieces and nephew. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Tuesday at Ridge Funeral Home.
