Hilda Marie Maness

Hilda Marie Maness, 77, of Wilmington, passed away on March 14, 2024, surrounded by her dear friends.

Hilda was born on December 21, 1946, in Randolph County to the late Howard Maness and Grethel Cole Maness. Hilda was very educated and worked many places over the years where she found so many wonderful friends. She worked in the White House during the Reagan Administration and found her love of politics. She also worked at the Hudson Institute and George Mason University. Her last job was at Intercoastal Realty

where her coworkers became like family.

Hilda loved to travel and got the chance to travel across the world. She loved to shop and be with friends. She had a sass and wit about her that was like no one else. If you would give her a few minutes she would talk politics and sports with you. She loved her Duke Blue Devils. She had a huge heart for her dogs and was very passionate about the Golden Retriever Rescue.

She is survived by her nephew, Chad Maness and wife Morgan, great nieces Cheyenne and Raylan Maness all of Gibsonville. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, William H Maness.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery, Seagrove, with Rev. Tim Pheagin officiating.
