Henry Earl Austin

Henry Earl Austin, Sr., 78, of Asheboro, died Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 26, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Rev. Chad Austin officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro. A native of Altamahaw, NC, Mr. Austin was born January 3, 1942, the son of the late Albert White Austin and Lossie Belle Tickle Austin. He retired from Burlington Industries as a senior systems analysts, and from GMAC Insurance. He enjoyed playing basketball at the YMCA and golfing. Mr. Austin was also an avid NC Tarheel fan. In addition to his parents, Mr. Austin was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Austin; grandchildren, Jessica Austin and Brandi Cooper. Mr. Austin is survived by his daughter, Teresa L. Cooper and husband Rob of Asheboro; son, Earl Austin of Greensboro; sister, Patsy Abraham and husband Jim of Burlington; brother, A.C. Austin of Reidsville; grandchildren, Ryan Austin, Lea Austin, Troy Austin, Fara Austin, Austin Grace Cooper, Jessica Wesolowski, Kristin Cooper, Luke Cooper, and James Shawn Walsh. The family will receive friends from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
