Helen Siler

Helen Elizabeth Siler, 82, of Siler City, departed this life on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Siler City Center in Siler City. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2017, at Covenant Christian Church with Pastors Lois Johnson and Travis Johnson officiating. Born April 8, 1934 in Chatham County, Ms. Siler was the daughter of the late John Henry Siler and Jessie Lee Chavis Siler. She attended Chatham County training school and worked many year's as a nurse's aide for nursing homes, social services and home care. In her youth, Ms. Siler attended First Baptist Church in Siler City and received Christ as her Savior. In 1980 Covenant Christian Church was started in her home and she was a faithful member until her death. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy Siler and Joe Siler. Ms. Siler is survived by her daughter, Sharon Ann Siler of Asheboro; sister, Shirley Clark of Siler City; brother, Sterling Brewer and wife, Madonna of Siler City; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday at Covenant Christian Church, prior to the service.
