Hazel Cameron

Mrs. Hazel T Cameron, 96, died on March 24, 2014 at Crystal Bluff Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Morehead City. She was born in Springfield MA, lived most of her life in Asheboro NC, and more recently in Emerald Isle. Hazel was an inspiration and role model to her family and many friends, and will be missed by all. She and her husband, John Bell Cameron, owned Ideal Electric Co. in Asheboro and she worked until age 90 at various occupations – from selling carpet and craft supplies, teaching adults knitting and crocheting, helping preschoolers with their ABCs, to her last job at the Salt Box Senior Center. She was predeceased by her husband, siblings, and parents. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Cameron Burks, of Ocean Isle, NC, and her sons, Tim Burks, of Sarasota, FL, and Keith Burks and his wife, Deborah, of Lincoln, NE, and their children, Nichole Burks and Josh Burks; and her son, Johnny Cameron and his wife, Brenda, of Emerald Isle, NC, and their children, Caroline Cameron, of Jacksonville, NC, and Brian and his wife, Tricia Cameron of Youngsville, NC. The memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 in the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, 908 Albemarle Road, Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends immediately following in the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your charity of choice.
