Harvey R. Shaw

Mr. Harvey Ralph Shaw, 74, of Asheboro, NC, died Monday, February 4, 2013, at Kindred Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Dowling officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Shaw was born January 27, 1939. He was the son of the late Ralph Onie Shaw and Edith Ruth Trogdon Shaw. He was 1957 graduate of Asheboro High School and a 1961 graduate of High Point College. He received a Master's Degree from Appalachian State University. He was retired from Randolph Community College. Mr. Shaw was a charter member of the Clan McKay Society of North America. In addition to his parents, Mr. Shaw was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Michael Shaw. Mr. Shaw is survived by sister, Ruth Anne Shaw, of Asheboro; aunts, Lucille Richardson, of Asheboro, Dot Nance and husband James, of Asheboro; one niece, one great nephew; and beloved dogs, Jake and Duncan. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home.
