Harvey D. Goins

Mr. Harvey Dale Goins, 51, of Asheboro, NC, died Friday, September 9, 2011, at High Point Regional Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Balfour Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Hill and Chaplain Dwight Ayers officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Goins was born May 30, 1960. He was the son of the late Edward Goins and Florence Mae Snider Goins, and was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Janice Cotner. He was employed as a deputy with the Randolph County Sheriff's Office and was a Boy Scout leader for Troop 513 in Seagrove, NC. Mr. Goins is survived by his wife, Yvonne Goins, of the home; sons, Zachary Goins, Justin Goins, both of the home; sisters, Brenda Goins Lamb and husband, Mitchell, of Asheboro, NC, Roberta Goins Rich and husband, Harvey, of Sophia, NC; brothers, Kenneth Wayne Goins and wife, Faye, Tony E. Goins and wife, Susan, Perry C. Goins and wife, Lola, all of Asheboro, NC; nephew, Michael Lamb, of Asheboro, NC; father-in-law, William Cotner, of Pleasant Garden, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Monday, September 12, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
