Harry George Kidd, 73, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at his home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Friendship Baptist Church where he was a member, with Pastor Landon Flinchum and Pastor Todd Nance officiating. Burial will follow at Harmony Baptist Church in Ramseur.
A native of Chatham County, Harry was born on October 15, 1949, to the late Henry and Helen Harris Kidd. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He worked for Energizer for 54 years. Harry honorably served in the U.S. Army for two years during the Vietnam Conflict. He came back to Hawaii and drove for three and four star generals. He loved playing guitar and gospel songs. Harry was a former deacon of Landmark Baptist Church and Iron Mountain Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his sister, Nina Kidd Kizer.
He is survived by his wife Karen Kidd of the home; daughters, Tonya Kidd Coltrane and husband Troy of Seagrove, Sherry Kidd of Aldie, Virginia, Kristy K. Bray and husband Jonathan of Asheboro; grandchildren, Corey Stevens, Sabrina Stryker, Silas Stryker, Joe Jester, Tatum Coltrane; and three great grandchildren with one to come.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Ridge Funeral Home.
