After six weeks of battling Acute Leukemia, Harold Lewis Williamson, 74, of Asheboro, passed away with his family by his side Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, November 8, 2014, at First Baptist Church, Asheboro, NC, with Dr. Scotty Carpenter and the staff at First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro, NC A native of Moore Co., NC, Mr. Williamson was born November 23, 1939, the son of the late Earl Ray and Maudie Owens Williamson. He retired from Eveready Battery after 30 years of service and was working at TCSS for the last 12 years. He attended First Baptist Church, Asheboro, and was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He loved to work in the garden and in the yard. He loved to share his vegetables with his neighbors. He was a loving husband, daddy and Pawpaw to Samantha and Jenna. In addition to his parents, Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by his son, Michael Lewis Williamson, sister-in-law, Alice Routh, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charlie and Mildred Williams. Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife, Pat Williamson, of the home; daughter, Susan York and husband, Mike, of Asheboro, NC; sister, Lois Kearns and husband, Reid, of Asheboro, NC; brother, Tracy Williamson and wife, Julia, of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Samantha and Jenna York; sister-in-law, Charlene McDaniel; brother-in-law, Bobby Routh; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, November 7, 2014 at Ridge Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Asheboro, NC, and other times at the home.
