Harold Eugene Laster, Sr., 73, of Asheboro, died Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. A native of Guilford Co., NC, Mr. Laster was born December 9, 1944, the son of the late Earl and Haroline Hillard Laster. Daddy was once a racecar driver and mechanic who owned his own shop and was known as one of the best mechanics in Greensboro. He then became a truck driver and later managed and delivered trucks and buses for Woodruf Transport. Daddy was a busy man. Not many could outrun him in his healthier days. He loved to go to the races, watch wrestling, and kept up with his favorite sports. He always loved to travel, go bowling, fishing, and going out to eat with his family. He had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. He loved his grand-babies. He has now gained his checkered flag into Heaven. Survivors include his daughter, Amanda Harper and husband, Johnathan; son, Bud Laster and wife, Sandra; sister, Virginia Fristoe, Elizabeth Fogleman; brothers, Danny Laster, Arnold Laster, Robert Laster; grandchildren, Jeffrey Harper, William Harper, Keira Harper, Kenneth Harper, Megan Laster, Christian Jordan, Jessica Riggs, Chris Laster; great grandchildren, Mallory, Zackary and Ayden. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Ridge Funeral Home.
