Harold Lee Chaffin

Mr. Harold Lee Chaffin, 71, of Climax, NC, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Gilmore Memorial Park with Father Christopher Davis officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Santa Rosa County, FL, Mr. Chaffin was born March 1, 1940. He was the son of the late Marvin Chaffin and Thelma Estelle May Chaffin. He retired from the US Air Force after 21 years of service and then worked for Cooper Thomas Printing. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, watching football, bird watching and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Chaffin is survived by his wife, Sheila Treacy Chaffin, of the home; daughters, Terri Brown and husband, Reid, of Asheboro, NC, Marcia Wensel and husband, Robert, of Currie, NC; sons, Michael Chaffin and wife, Velvet, of Climax, NC, David Chaffin and wife, Rose, of Kernersville, NC; sisters, Linda Singer, of Pleasant Garden, NC, Louise Griffith, of Freeport, FL, Marilyn Russell, of Cary, NC, ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and his faithful companion, "Nikki C"�. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Friday, February 3, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home.
