Grover Lawson

Mr. Grover Lee Lawson, 85, of Randleman, NC, died Thursday, August 16, 2012, at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation. A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Friday, August 17, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Tim Pheagin officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A native of Surry County, NC, Mr. Lawson was born October 15, 1926. He was the son of the late Jim Tom Lawson and Eva Lawson. He was a farmer and also worked in a sawmill. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sons, Dr. Carson Ray Lawson and William Roger Lawson. Mr. Lawson, is survived by his wife, Gladys Lawson; daughters, Linda Ingle, of Randleman, NC, Glenda York, of Randleman, NC, Brenda Varner, of Asheboro, NC, Janet Rich, of Randleman, NC; sons, Roy Lawson, of Asheboro, NC, Michael Lawson, of Randleman, NC, Raymond Lawson, of Randleman, NC; sister, Ellen Stevens, of Asheboro, NC; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm Friday, August 17, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home.
