Greg Hunt, 34, passed away to the peace and joy of Heaven on Thursday, April 30, 2020, at his residence in Asheboro. He was a sweet, funny, friendly, caring, and kind young man -- with a contagious laugh -- who will be terribly missed by family and friends who knew and loved him. Greg graduated from Asheboro High School in 2004 and Randolph Community College in 2006, with an Associate degree in Machining -- and later a Certificate in Welding. He has worked at Allen Precision, as well as other machine shops. Always an avid sportsman, Greg pursued bowling, billiards, and especially golf. He was on the Asheboro High School Golf Team throughout high school and made All-Conference four years in a row. In more recent years, he enjoyed video gaming and pursuing physical fitness at local gyms. Greg was an only child who is survived by parents, Roger & Judy Hunt of Asheboro, aunt Kim Edge (Jimmy Simmonds) of Greensboro, uncle Donald Hunt (Elaine) of Randleman, aunt Linda Hunt Davis (Wes Hodgin) and uncle Mark Hunt (Cathy) of Sophia, and cousins Lisa Goins (Chris), Donna Brady (Travis), Jeffrey Davis (Diana), Jonathan Davis, Deana Ward, Justin Hunt, and Amanda Hunt. Greg also leaves behind his precious orange tabby cat, Garfield, who he rescued. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a private memorial service with immediate family members.
