Grace Cole Scott

Mrs. Grace Merle Cole Scott, 94, of Asheboro, NC, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at The Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Howard McNeill, Gene Bumgarner, and Dr. Charles Fleshman officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Seagrove. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Scott was born February 27, 1919. She was the daughter of the late John Walter Cole and Ida Gertrude Auman Cole. Mrs. Scott owned and operated Scott's Beauty Shop until age 80 when she retired. She was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church, where she played the piano for many years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, cooking and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed watching the ball games when her sons played. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bynum Scott; son, Charles Scott; brothers, Elon Cole, Roy Cole; and sister, Alice Voncannon. Mrs. Scott is survived by sons, Ray Scott and wife, Rebecca, of Asheboro, Jimmy Scott and wife, Donna, of Ft. Worth, TX; daughter-in-law, Ann Scott, of the home; grandchildren, Susan Scott Banks, and husband, Aaron, John Scott and wife, Danielle, Scott Faglier and wife, Kim, Rhonda Faglier Christenbury and husband, Chris, Anna Scott, Amber Markham and husband, Leon, Chris Bennett and wife, Lisa, Brent Bennett and wife, Elaine; great grandchildren, Emma Banks, Nicholas Banks, Parker Banks, Camden Scott, Cooper Scott, Zeke Markham, Molly Bennett, Parker Bennett, Daniel Bennett, Claire Bennett, Brandon Faglier, Jeremy Faglier, Kristen Dawkins, Cidnee Greene; and great-great grandchildren, Kayden Faglier, Braelynn Faglier and Caelynn Parsons. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
