Grace Cranford Freund

Mrs. Grace Cranford Freund, 91, of Denton, NC, died Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at Randolph Hospital. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Central United Methodist Church, Denton, NC, where she was a member. Mrs. Freund was born September 27, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Nivin Clark Cranford and Delia Little Cranford. She was born and raised in Albemarle, NC, and raised her family in Winston-Salem, retiring with her husband in Randolph County. Her art career flourished in Winston-Salem, and her paintings are displayed in many private and public collections. She was passionate about her music, accomplished in piano, violin, and mandolin. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. O.J. "Ozzie" Freund. Mrs. Freund is survived by sons, John Freund, of Charlotte, NC, Mark Freund, of San Francisco, CA, Dick Freund, of Carrboro, NC; brothers Owen Cranford, Sherril Cranford; and one granddaughter, Anna Freund.
