Glennie Hinson Hancock, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2016 at Richland Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Smith, Rev. Mark Caldwell and Rev. Ralph Pugh officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born in Randolph County on April 16, 1948, , Mrs. Hancock was the daughter of the late Carnie and Beulah Bescher Hinson. She was retired from Shepherd's Way Day School. Mrs. Hancock was a member of Richland Baptist Church, where she was a choir member, Sunday School teacher and a member of the Womens Mission Union (WMU). In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hancock was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ray Hancock. Mrs. Hancock is survived by her daughter, Julie Hancock Kinney (Rodney) of Asheboro; son, Scott Hancock (Kim) of Asheboro; sisters, Betsy Leach (Fred) of High Point, Evelyn Burrow (Autrey) of Asheboro, Lucille Johnson of Greensboro, Panzie Smith (Vic) of Asheboro, Teresa Phillips of Asheboro, Deborah Palmisano (David) of Mason, OH; brothers, John Hinson (Brenda) of Asheboro, David Harold Hinson (Joyce) of Siler City, Donald Hinson of Asheboro; grandchildren, Morgan Kinney, Troy Kinney, Holly Hancock, Austin Hancock, Josh Wishon, Robert Wishon; and one great-granddaughter, Valerie Wishon. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Julie and Rodney Kinney. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Glennie's special caregiver, Angela Nixon, her sisters, brothers, Iris Hinson, Randolph Hospice House staff, and Cindy Stanley for their love and care of our mother. We would like to also thank the Richland Baptist Church and Friendship Baptist Church families for their visits, calls and continued prayers.
