Glendon Bascom Mccain

Mr. Glendon Bascom McCain, 73, of Randleman, NC, died Friday, December 20, 2013, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, NC. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, December 23, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Whittington officiating. Burial will follow at Charlotte United Methodist Church Cemetery in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. McCain was born April 19, 1940. He was the son of the late Harris Glenn McCain and Fleta Briles McCain Redding. Mr. McCain was a truck driver for Klopman Mills for many years and later retired from Harris Teeter. He served in the US Army. He enjoyed working in his garden and riding his motorcycle. In addition to his parents, Mr. McCain was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob McCain and Bill McCain. Mr. McCain is survived by daughter, Robin Vanhoy, of Asheboro; sons, Todd McCain, of Greensboro, Eric McCain, of Asheboro, Chris Davis and wife, Sheryl, of Greensboro: grandsons, Ryan Vanhoy, of Oxford, MS, Brad Davis and wife, Jenn, of Charlotte; and two great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Sunday, December 22, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Eric McCain, 536 Mountain Road, Asheboro.
