Glenda Faye Hicks Miller, 84, of Asheboro, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at her home.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025, at First Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ, Asheboro, with Rev. Dave Cash officiating.
Glenda was born on December 15, 1940, in Randolph County, the daughter of the late Wade Lee Hicks and Nina Lednum Hicks. She was the 1959 Homecoming Queen at Ramseur High School, and was the secretary for the vice president at B.B. Walker Shoe for over 30 years. She was an adventurous and outgoing person, who enjoyed playing tennis, golf and could run laps around you. She was known "to get out of Dodge", which was a fun shopping spree with friends. Glenda was a loving mother and grandmommy.
In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by her husband Ferree Miller III; sisters, Winnie Jester, Velvis Hicks; brothers, James Hicks, Hurley Hicks; and fur baby, Lil Man.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim Crowder (Dennis); son, Kent Lewis (Wanda); stepsons, Ferree Miller IV (Jacelyn), Keith Miller; grandchildren, Andy Moody, Charity Wall, Kendall Lewis; great grandchildren, Jasmine Moody, Destiny Wall, Amiyah Wall; and special niece, Darius Lee Stutts (Wayne).
