Gladys Williams Lawson

Mrs. Gladys Mae Williams Lawson, 83, of Randleman, NC, died Monday, September 8, 2014, at Randolph Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A native of Surry County, NC, Mrs. Lawson was born May 29, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Lester Hawkes and Elsie Mae Williams. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a homemaker and would feed anything or anyone that needed a meal. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Lee Lawson, brother, Clarence Williams, sons, Carlos Ray Lawson and William Roger Lawson. Mrs. Lawson is survived by her daughters, Linda Ingle and boyfriend, Donald Trotter, Glenda York and husband, James, all of Randleman, NC, Brenda Vernon and husband, Ralph, of Asheboro, NC, Janet Rich and husband, Danny, of Randleman, NC; sons, Roy Lawson and wife, Annette, of Asheboro, NC, Michael Lawson and wife, Deb, of Level Cross, NC, Raymond Lawson, of Randleman, NC; sister, Mildred Harris; 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home.
