Gladys Yow Edwards

Mrs. Gladys Ruth Yow Edwards, 74, of Randleman, NC, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Aaron Robbins officiating. Burial will follow at Fall Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Bennett, NC. A native of Chatham County, NC, Mrs. Edwards was born August 14, 1935, the daughter of the late Frank and Lona Bright Yow. She had worked at Stedman Corp., Harris-Hayes IGA, the Yogurt Station and the Salvation Army. She was a member of To God Be The Glory Ministries. She enjoyed working with the public, had "the gift of gab" and always had a smile on her face. Survivors include her daughter, Shelby Smithwick, of Randleman; son, John Lee Edwards and wife, Betsy, of Asheboro; sisters, Clara Yow Morris, of Asheboro, Dorothy "Dot"� Yow Rice, of Asheboro, Jane Yow Moffitt and husband, Odell, of Randleman; brother, Cecil Yow and wife, Brenda, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Ashley Barker and husband, Derrick, Beverly Blalock and husband, Chris, Kristen Edwards; great grandchildren, Christopher Blalock, Logan Edward-Lee Barker, and Kayla McGuine. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 7 until 9 pm on Saturday, July 31, 2010, and other times at the home.
